Grupo Karumbé

We co-create solutions to complex problems

Facilitation of learning journeys, organizational processes and project governance for organizations transforming Brazil and the world.

Karumbé means turtle in Nheengatu.

About us

We are a group of professionals who came together to help develop solutions to complex problems faced in Brazil and around the world.

We work alongside civil society organizations, foundations, companies and governments — mediating dialogues, facilitating gatherings and supporting the governance of social impact projects.

Why Karumbé?

Karumbé means turtle in Nheengatu, an Amazonian indigenous language. Like the turtle, we believe in processes with their own rhythm: steady, resilient and deeply connected to the territory.

Our pillars

Five principles guide every project we facilitate.

  1. Attentive listening

Every context is unique. We listen with presence and care before proposing any path.

  2. Collective learning

The best solutions emerge from knowledge shared among the people involved.

  3. Diversity

Plural perspectives make processes richer and solutions fairer.

  4. Innovation

We experiment with new approaches to turn difficulties into benefits.

  5. Design

We structure processes with intention and care, from diagnosis to implementation.

Methodology

Design Thinking

A methodology for developing products and services focused on people’s needs, desires and limitations.

Its main goal is to turn difficulties into benefits for people and organizations, through a structured approach to generating and refining ideas.

Reflective Social Practice

A phenomenological, holistic, human and ecological way of seeing, understanding and relating to the world.

It encourages us to enter the unique context of each situation and respond to what presents itself.
